Enterprise Northern Ireland awarded 3 ½ year contract for delivery of Northern Ireland Business Start Up programme

Enterprise Northern Ireland has been awarded a 3 ½ year contract by Lisburn & Castlereagh Council on behalf of all eleven Councils to deliver the Northern Ireland Business Start Up programme via its network of Local Enterprise Agencies.

The programme will help to start-up around 6,500 new businesses as well as create almost 6,000 jobs. The programme will encourage potential entrepreneurs to produce a business plan as one of the key early steps to starting a business and moving into self-employment.

The Northern Ireland Business Start Up programme will deliver support to anyone seeking to start a new business in Northern Ireland. The ‘customer journey’ will contain 4 elements


1. initial assessment meeting
2. training workshop
3. one-to-one support with a qualified business adviser
4. a business plan
