The Northern Ireland Business Start Up programme will be delivered by the Local Enterprise Agency network for the next 3 ½ years.

Enterprise Northern Ireland has been awarded the contract by Lisburn & Castlereagh Council on behalf of all eleven Councils to deliver the Northern Ireland Business Start Up programme via its network of Local Enterprise Agencies. The programme will help to start-up around 6,500 new businesses as well as create almost 6,000 jobs. Entrepreneurship is recognised as a driver for job creation, competitiveness and growth. Key goals for the Northern Ireland Business Start Up programme include:

  • Encouraging more people to become entrepreneurs, and;
  • Gearing entrepreneurs for growth and competitiveness.

 

The programme will be an exemplar of public/private/social economy partnerships ensuring that provision of business start-up support will be consistent and available everywhere in Northern Ireland. Female and Youth entrepreneurship will be a particular focus.

 

Entrepreneurs in Northern Ireland will be well served in the next few years by this partnership of Local Councils and Local Enterprise Agencies backed up by Enterprise Northern Ireland Start Up Loans.
