Antrim Enterprise Agency is inviting social enterprises with products and services to sell to come and meet them on Thursday 29th March as part of their Buy Social event. The event taking place at the enterprise centre will commence at 10am and finish at 2pm and will provide an opportunity for social enterprises to meet staff of Antrim Enterprise to find out about the products and services that they buy and how they might become part of the agency’s supply chain. Buy Social will also allow for social enterprises attending to network with each other during the event.
“Buy Social is about using our money, as an organisation to create a more positive impact on the world we live in. Social enterprises offer high quality, competitively priced products and services and often employ specific groups of people that have traditionally found it hard to access the jobs market, enhancing social mobility in Northern Ireland” explains Jennifer McWilliams, Manager. “As a social enterprise ourselves, we are committed to purchasing more from social enterprises.”
Supporting the initiative is Social Enterprise NI and Amanda Johnston, Membership and Networking Officer is delighted that Antrim Enterprise Agency is organising the event: “Antrim Enterprise are not only promoting but being proactive about changing their Supply Chain in their business to include as many Social Enterprises as possible. As we all know by buying from a social enterprise your “pound” goes further and is reinvested to help social issues in society for example homelessness, vulnerable adults, domestic violence etc. I would encourage as many social enterprises as possible to attend Antrim Enterprise Agencies Supply Chain event on 29 March”
